Saint John XXIII Council was chartered June 31st, 1967 at St. Stephen's in Trumbull, CT with 58 charter members. When St. Jude Parish was established in Monroe, CT in 1973, the council was transferred there to better support the Monroe community.
It is named after Pope John XXIII.  (For history and information on Blessed Pope John Paul XXIII, click here).
Our Council works closely with the St. Jude Parish community in Monroe, CT, providing support and funds for various projects.
Saint John XXIII Council 5987 is located at St. Jude's Church at 707 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe, CT 06468.
Our Council is composed of about 200 Knights, four being Honorary and 11 being Honorary Life Members 
The Grand Knight for 2019 - 2020 is Bill Davoren.
Our Council meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:30 PM in the Parish School.   For those wishing to participate, the Rosary is said before the meeting starting at 7 PM.
Officer meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the school.

ST. JOHN XXl 11 COLUMBIETTES 

The Columbiettes is a prayerful community ofCatholic women who perform charitable works. We are an international organization dedicated to our Patronesses, the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, ST. THERESA THE LITTLE FLOWER and ST. JOAN OF ARC. 

Our Emblem: 

* The BLUE CIRCLE represents the World.
* The WHITE CROSS represents Christ's love for us - by His Crucifixion He redeemed the World.
* The RAYS represent our zeal to serve God through the mediums of FAlTH, HOPE and CHARITY symbolized by the THREE WHITE STARS. Our purpose is to: 
  • *  promote the spiritual, social and charitable welfare ofour members 
  • *  to instill a steadfast conviction relating to the proper place and function 
    o f Catholic women in safeguarding the religious, civil and economic rights 
    of all Catholics 

  • *  to rely upon the intercession of Mary, our Mother and Model, for guidance 
    in guarding the common good, to work through her, loving and aiding all members ofthe human family and to give assistance to the Knights of Columbus in all their activities upon request. 

    Meetings: 

    * 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7:30 pm at St. Jude Parish Center
    * New members installed in the spring and fall
    * Annual dues $15 -- time commitment according to individual ability
