Protection of our children is our most important goal. All volunteers 18 and older must be trained in Safe Environment. Details are shown below
Dear Volunteers,

All volunteers 18 years of age and older must have completed the Safe Environment Program.

To do this, you must complete all 3 of the following steps:

  1. Take the Safe Environment seminar course:
    1. If you have never done this before, you must take the 3 hour course in person. Call the Parish Office at 203-261-6404 or look on Virtus.org to find and sign up for a class. After completing the course, you must print out the certificate and either bring or mail it to the Parish Office.
    2. If you took the course previously, you must re-certify because there was an update in March 2015. Since you took the Virtus seminar already, you have Virtus account with a User ID and Password. You need this information to complete you update online.  Please e-mail the Parish Office at parish.office@stjuderc.com if you have forgotten your Password and/or User ID. You can also re-certify by taking the update in person. Please contact the Parish Office or look on Virtus.org for classes.
  2. Complete a background check. This can be done on-line or if you are taking an in person course, you will sign a hardcopy then.
  3. Sign the Executive Summary for Lay Volunteers and either bring or mail it to the Parish Office.  A blank Executive Summary is available; on-line and can be printed, in the back of the Safe Environments 2020 Handbook (available here), or you can get a copy in the Parish Office/Religious Education Office.

If you need an in-person class or have any questions please contact us.
